What do you want to be when you grow up?

When I was very little, I wanted to be a singer/actress/model. I planned on being a trio of talent all packed into one. I would practice skits, or song & dances, & perform for my family. I had so much fun getting all dressed up & putting on a show.

As I began to make my way towards preteen, school started asking this very question. So it began to really dawn on me that I should decide something. At this point I had lots of little cousins I was always around, so I began to have a love for children. (& yes, I was still a child, but you get what I mean). So I started to want to be a pediatrician. I mean, I had to make the money along with doing something I may love. (& I also really loved my pediatrician).

Now through my teens, it was a very rough time. Puberty, boys, & rules were some things that were frustrating. & I had my own personal problems from family disfunction, to a bleeding disorder, etc., on top of that. So, I started seeing a psychologist. She was amazingly helpful with all my situations, & helped me find a way through all the dark clouds. So, I am sure you have guessed it, I wanted to become a psychologist.

Now, I know what you are thinking, a lot of people think the same, I flipped around a lot. Well honey, you have no idea. My mother could not keep up with the amount of flipping I did. But she did her best to raise this Gemini girl well. (I am sure some day I will make a post about zodiacs).

So, “How did I end up in the beauty industry?”, is the next question I’m asking for you all. (You’re welcome). ☺ It was my wonderful mother who had actually suggested the idea to me that I should consider becoming a cosmetologist. She had told me that as she watched me grow up, she noticed that I loved to do hair & make up. That I would sit in the bathroom for hours making up different looks, or characters. I guess its true that all those skits & dances I put on had to have had wardrobe, hair & make up. & there was only little ol’ me to do it all. I also had a tendency to practice cutting & coloring hair on my cousin, ( we will call her…), Chloe. She let me do some wild things, so I owe her a lot! ❤

Still to this day though, there are a couple of things I want to add to my cosmetology career. & that being web design/computer programing & photography. I figured that they can all kind of mesh & be apart of each other in a way. & with both career paths, I can be a freelancer.

I leave you with the same questions I have answered for you today. What did you want to be when you grew up? & what are you today? Do you have any other aspirations then what you currently are doing? Leave me a comment below, or send me a message with your answers. I can’t wait to hear your stories. ☺
